Adding to my Coin Collection

There are not many hobbies that really get me as excited as coin collecting.  I guess I can blame this passion on my uncle Steve who was an avid coin collector.  It has been something that I have been doing for many years, and today I was able to get some new coins for my collection.

Today, I am going to go out to purchase a military challenge coin.  I have finally found a place here that I can get it – it is something that I have wanted to add for a long time.

Celebrating a New Baby

It is always so very cool when a new life enters this world, and for my best friend Bruce, he had his first child this weekend.  He was a little nervous and worried that he might break the baby, but now he seems a little more settled in for his new role as a father.

I bought some cheap cigars online to celebrate the occasion – there is nothing cooler than having your first kid.

Protecting my Children’s Interests

One thing that really changes in one life once you have kids is that it is no longer about you.  In fact, you need to think about them first, and many of your decisions are influenced as a result.

So, when our first child was born, we made sure to get life insurance to ensure that he would be taken care of in case we passed away.  Many of our friends thought it was silly to do that, but heaven forbid that we passed away and there was no money there to help raise them – we didn’t want to pass that burden on anyone else or make him suffer for anything.

Buying my Child a Keepsake

There are many different things that people buy for their children when they are little.  The idea is to buy something that will be valuable for your kids in the future.  At least that is how I saw it, and I wanted to buy my new son something that would be of value someday.

So, we went out and bought him a silver dollar.  Based on how well silver is doing, it should be worth a fortune some day.
