Before We Bought Our House
One of the things that I would have to say about buying our first house was that it was a learning experience. We had no idea what to expect or what needed to be done, so we depended on our team of experts (including our mortgage broker, realtor, and lawyer) to point us in the right direction.
The one surprise of the whole experience was that we needed mortgage term life insurance before we could get the house. I had thought that the current amount of life insurance that we had was going to be sufficient, but I guess we were wrong. I suppose it does make sense though – if I was the bank, I would want to protect my investment too.
