Worst Gadgets of All Time

In the last 10 years technology has improved dramatically. This progression of technology has been no more apparent than in the home. There are have been advances in things such as cooking equipment, home entertainment and Internet access. However, in order to balance out the good and evil in the world, its inevitable that some terrible gadgets had to made at some point.

 

Well now, Sheila's Wheels has conducted a survey to find out which gadgets really are the worst gadgets of all time. There were quite a few to choose from, but after everything had been taken into consideration, it was the humble shower radio that topped the list.

 

The sorry excuse for a gadget was awarded the crown of worst gadget of all time due to a number of factors. The first one being that they regularly broke because water would leak into the batteries. Further more, the large majority of these radios couldn't pick up reception in a shower cubicle and the sound of the running water literally drowned out the weak crackles that did manage to find their way out of the speakers.

 

Other pointless gadgets that made it into the top ten worst gadgets of all time included the following:

 

  • Electric candles
  • Electric nail file
  • Soda stream
  • Teasmaid
  • Pancake maker
  • Fondue set
  • Electric fluff remover
  • Facial tanner
  • Egg slicer

 

Alongside the survey for the worst gadgets of all time also came the best gadgets of all time. These findings were not too much of a surprise really. Television proved to be the most popular gadget, but it was a close call for second place between the telephone, computer and vacuum cleaner would you believe. It is clear to see that the gadgets considered best, were those that save lots of time or have a big impact on people's lives. So at least there are lots of gadgets that people like, and this is why they are still very popular gifts. Items like ipod alarm clocks and LED shower heads are great fun to have around the house. However, if you're looking for gadgets that aid everyday life, maybe alarm clocks would be better.
