Air conditioning uses a lot of energy every single day. America is easily the country that use it the most, they would be lost without it..

Over the past twenty years it has grown a lot and seems to be used wherever we go. If you live in a cooler country like England you know that air con isnt really needed many times during the year.. Air con is being used more and more and can even be purchased in a portable form of dehumidifiers just to cool you down whilst you are out and about. Perhaps the only time I can think that someone in England may use one of these is in the car..

In America they are needed a lot more simply because of the climate. Having been to some of the hottest places in America I have to say that without air con life would have been rather difficult. This is very true at the theme parks out there as you always want to be in some form of air con.. However is this air con simply for tourists, surely the citizens are used to the heat?

There is a use for it in America and it comes in most useful in an office.. Although it could be said that air con is a fantastic invention its major issue is the energy it uses.. Of course there are other great inventions out there like Portable air conditioners as well as outdoor heater

So although the air conditioner is a very good invention, next time you go to switch it on stop and think. Is it just habit or do you really need it on. Leaving it off could mean a lot of money saved in your electricity bill as well as making you feel a bit better about yourself.
