SonicWall launches new Internet threat prevention software

Our firm~{The firm}~SonicWall~Sonic}~Our firm~{The firm}~SonicWall~Sonic}.a leader in network infrastructure security, has launched a new software that provides security against threat of these so-called SSL Certificate Null Byte Poisoning vulnerabiltiy. Users of the SonicWall Internet security's  Unified Threat Management Firewall technology, which protects against viruses, Trojans, worms and other threats and vulnerabilities, automatically receive updated signatures designed to repel security threats.

Various browser and non-browser based SSL implementations will be vulnerable for hijacking as your computer is incapable of defending itself from attacks. An attacker will obtain null byte stuffed certificate to resemble the origin of the content, making your computer vulnerable to attacks because your system cannot distinguish if the machine is under attack from third party source.

Your computer is also vulnerable to attacks from other viruses, including trohans and malwares as the attacker can exploit your computer's weakness aside from compromised SSL session.

The vulnerability was first publicly disclosed during BlackHat security conference briefings in Las Vegas on July 29-30, 2009. On July 31, 2009, users of SonicWALL internet security's Unified Threat Management technology received updated signatures designed to protect against this threat. SonicWALL has issued the following IPS signature

SonicWALL has developed unique technologies to deliver zero day gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware and intrusion prevention signatures to its subscribers on a continual basis, allowing them to defend against new and existing Internet attacks and exploits such as phishing, viruses, DHA or DoS attacks and more. Customers with a current subscription to SonicWALL's gateway threat prevention services are not affected by this vulnerability.

Our firm~{The firm}~SonicWall~Sonic}. the leader in network security, focuses on developing solutions that remove the cost and complexity out of managing a secure network environment. With over one million award-winning appliances shipped through its global network of ten thousand channel partners, SonicWALL Internet security provides end-to-end solutions including Firewalls, SSL VPN's, Email Security and Continuoinous Data Protection that collectively ensure robust, secure network protection.

Writing our Christmas Letter

Well, it is that time of year that means that we are getting close to Christmas.  It is a busy time around our home, but we always make the time to write our Christmas letter to friends and family.

We send out the letter with our Christmas cards each year and we usually include a family picture.  It is our chance to share how the year went for us and for some of our older friends, it is the only way that they can keep in touch.

For those of you who we didn’t mail to last year (and would like a card), get in touch with me, and we’ll send one out to you this year.

Fixing my Smile

After a slight mishap this past week, I found myself without one of my front teeth.  It was stupid really, but I happened to slip on some ice and took a bit of a tumble, after which I was a tooth short of a full smile.

So, I have an appointment tomorrow to get some recommendations on whether a dental implants Plano would be a good choice for me.  Since I work with the public, having a broken smile will impair my ability to make a living, so hopefully they can do something for me.

Losing to Win

One of the things that my wife has loved about her new job is the contest that they have started to see who could lose the most weight.  The staff at the retail store she works at decided that they all needed to shed a few pounds, so they all made a little wager to see who could lose the most.

Some of the participants have been eating salad every day at work, whereas others have admitted to using appetite suppressants – I don’t think that is fair.

Checking on my Car Insurance

There is nothing more frustrating about finding out that you paid too much for something, and that is the exact situation that I found myself in last year with my car insurance.

As it turned out, I was paying too much, but I didn’t realize that until I got an insurance quote from a competing company.  It saved me a bundle, so I thought that I would do the same thing this year.

So, I am gathering up quotes from about ten companies and then I am going to compare them to what I am paying – if the quotes are less, I will certainly change companies.
