Every year we take mandatory safety training at work.  It has been a very valuable experience as there have not been any work injuries for a number of years now.  Not only do we appreciate it as workers, but I think that our employer does too.

We cover many different topics including proper safety procedures, proper use of safety products (such as hard hats and gloves) as well as how to handle emergency situations such as fires.  Though some of the workers find it boring, I am happy that they take the time to make sure that we know what to do incase there is a problem.

We finish the day with a staff barbeque.  I will have to say that I don’t mind the training at all – it is a nice change from the work we do everyday.
