Buying a Candle for my Wife
One of the things that I learned early on in my marriage, was that flowers were not the perfect gifts for all occasions. I was told this once when I bought my wife some flowers as an apology – she really wasn’t impressed and told me that flowers didn’t make things better. Taking her advice to heart, I decided that I was going to make an effort to find other things to buy her besides flowers.
That is why I am going out today to buy a candle for my wife. It has been a long time since I bought her anything, so I thought that I would just get her one of those “just because I love you†type gifts.
But I quickly realized that maybe I was a little over my head. I mean, what does a boy know about buying candles? Well, not too much. But the clerk at the store was helpful, and I came home with something.
We’ll see her reaction to it when she does come home – hopefully it will be a positive one.
