Red Rabbit Craft Show in Arcadia

by Rick Amorey

A collective effort by a talented group of friends started Red Rabbit. They were mostly artists and artisans, and they would meet up a lot for lunch and discuss all things that were related to crafts. So it's no surprise that they came up with the idea of hosting their own craft show eventually.

Last December, with the success of the first show held over at the Descano Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, we've settled on holding the next event like it on July 19th. The venue this time around will be at the impressive 127-acre Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia.

There will be around fifty Southern California artists and craftspersons that will be attending the Arts and Crafts Market. Featured in the event will be various works in glass, ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, and other items that fail me at the moment. Emphasis is going to be made for handmade pieces; fine arts and crafts as well as indie work will be showcased.

What we're striving here for is a good mix of items. Because of this, we'll continue to accept other applications until every category gets completed. Aside from that, we are also planning to have kids craft workshops. We don't want them to be bored, do we?

The show itself will be from 9:30am to 3:30pm, and setting up of the booths will begin at around 8:30am. The gathering will be held indoors in a hall that is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The fees are quite affordable, and there will be an additional fee of 15% of sales as per the requirement of the Arboretum. There will be an eight foot long, two and a half foot wide table with chairs that will be provided by the organizers.
