Jerks….Or Insecure People?

by Mr Webbyfied

In your journey to create a confident and powerful self, I'm sure you have had plenty of people make the quest pretty difficult. Who are these insecure people? Or are they jerks?

If you're working hard to shed some pounds, they insist you break your diet. They promise it will be so much more fun going out to eat than going to the gym and wasting your time. "You'll never lose weight anyway."

Want to quit smoking? "You're always so grumpy since you quit smoking. I liked you better before."

Drinking? "You're no fun anymore dude."

Working on your confidence? Ooooh, that's the worst. You don't have the confidence to tell them what they need to hear when they begin criticizing you for TRYING TO BETTER YOURSELF!

What is the deal with these people?

Who are these a-holes?

Well, they aren't.

They're very insecure people.

And if your issue is confidence, they're worse than you've ever been. You have the self awareness to REALIZE that you need to work on how you see yourself. You know that you don't have the confidence you want right now, but you are looking for it in the right place.

Inside of yourself.

These insecure people don't even realize why they do the things they do.

It is common for insecure people to be miserable, and misery loves company.

That's why they give you such a hard time.

People that are insecure do not like change.

They realize, somewhere deep down, that they don't like the person they are, and they don't like facing that fact.

An insecure person would prefer you to stay exactly the way you are (not because they like you that way, but because they like THEMSELVES how they are) and not change a thing.

They don't want to hear about you quitting smoking, because how miserable would they be if they had to smoke alone in the cold?

Insecure people don't appreciate you quitting alcohol. If you don't make a fool of yourself, everyone else will call THEM the alcoholic.

These insecure people do not want you to gain confidence or realize how much you have kept yourself from attaining all of the things you have always known you could, but were to afraid to try, because they aren't brave themselves, yet.

So, help them out a little, and visit us again when you need some inspiration.

We'll still be here.
