Lose the Pregnancy Weight and Look Great!
It’s hard being a new Mom and still trying to be your pre-baby self. Your body has changed and you don’t have as much time to workout. The key to looking great comes easy when you start with the basics. Here are the ABC’s of losing the pregnancy weight.
A is for Arms and Abs:
Going for a run and climbing a stair master won’t trim your tummy completely. Incorporating resistance training and free weights into your exercise routine will help lose the pregnancy weight faster. Getting a toned, lean body comes more easily once you do some light weight lifting.
Some women stray away from pumping iron because they think it will bulk them up. But, on the contrary, professional trainers use this method to tone and slim down Moms. Using an exercise ball especially at home is useful in working those abs with crunches or legs with lifts. The exercise ball can be a fun and effective way to burn the baby fat in the convenience of your home.
B is for Broccoli:
Look at what your baby eats and see the difference in your own diet. Moms wouldn’t feed their baby salty chips or sugary desserts. You are what you eat. Therefore you should strive to keep up healthy eating habits such as snaking on a handful of blueberries which are high in antioxidants.
Often new Moms try and block out carbs in hopes of lowering their caloric intake. This is a mistake – it’s vital that the body gets all the food groups to balance out what your muscles needs like protein and carbohydrates. You can exercise all you want but without a healthy diet you won’t effectively lose the pregnancy weight for the long term.
C is for Cardio:
Cardio is the one area that doesn’t need any convincing. Moms know that they need to get their feet moving but the common misconception will be that they need hours on the treadmill to lose the pregnancy weight. On the contrary, when first trying to boost your metabolism, it’s best to do short interval cardio workouts at maximum intensity to increase your energy level and strengthen your heart.
The smart way to keep shaving off the pounds is by challenging your body with interval cardio workouts. These workouts varies the intensity at which you do an exercise and this keeps your heart rate elevated and your muscles working hard. So you can add some 5 minutes of hard running to your jog or power walking routine to work your body harder to lose the pregnancy weight.
With the ABC’s of fitness you are starting with the basics and thereby laying the foundation to live a healthy lifestyle. These ABCs are crucial to the success of losing the baby fat. Many Moms only do two out of three or even just one and never see the results they want. Keep these three in mind when setting up your schedule and remember when you go Fab, you can’t go back to Flab!
