About five years ago, my father had an accident that resulted in him being paralyzed. Now, he knew that the condition wasn't going to be permanent, but it was going to be a long road to recovery. Though he didn't know if he was going to recover fully, but he was sure going to try.
There were many different challenges that he had to overcome. Little by little, he was able to get some of his mobility back but it took a lot of time.
I think that his crowning moment was when he no longer needed to wear a disposable diaper. It was the push that got him to work even harder towards recovery.
Though he hasn't recovered fully yet, each and every day he gets a little closer to getting better - all I can say is that I admire his determination.
Recently, a good friend of mine had a problem where the power was off for three days. Now, thankfully this happened during the fall as heating wasn't an issue.
But in order to survive, we rely on such things as our stove and lights each and every day. She was able to use her camp stove to make her meals, but most of the food in their fridge and freezer spoiled because there was no electricity.
She also told me that she learned from her previous mistakes and didn't depend on battery powered flashlights for light in emergencies because usually you would end up with dead batteries when you needed them the most.
Instead she used a crank flashlight to provide light when she needed it. Just a couple of cranks and she had all the light that she needed. I think that I will have to buy some for our home as we have power outages frequently.
Though the year isn't over yet, this year has been very good for my business. So good in fact that I have some extra money to invest - now I just need to figure out what to invest in.
So, I have been looking at many franchise opportunities as I can in hopes that I can find a diamond in the rough. You see, I want to get in on the ground floor and not have to spend a lot of money to get into the franchise.
I will have to do some research to figure things out, but I am creating a short list of franchises to invest in. Hopefully, I will be able to find an investment soon - I hate to see my money just sitting in the bank.
One of my biggest challenges as an adult has been the same as what I had to deal with when I was in high school - my acne.
Unfortunately for me, I have been fighting acne for a number of years and it seems that no matter what treatments that I have tried, I can never seem to get rid of the problem.
But, I have heard about a newer treatment called Zeno that I am going to try. There have been a number of people that have tried it and have had some success with it.
I just hope that I have success with it too - I don't like having acne at all.
