I was recently working on a rather large online essay, when it dawned on me that I was writing on the wrong topic. We had been given a list of topics to write about and I had chosen to write on “The Early Invention of Plants”. Halfway through my writing I reread that it was “The Early Invention of Pants”.

I felt very foolish and stupid at that point and realized that I had just wasted two weeks of evenings writing this stupid research paper. I almost gave in at that point, but after a long conversation with my mother, I mustered up my determination and started all over, this time with the right topic.

Sometimes my stupidity amazes me so much that I can’t believe I even wrote a good application essay to get into this college. I am trying not to be so hard on myself and just get cracking on the things that matter. I also know that next time I will read and reread the topic list before I begin to write.
