Credit Cards Help Me Budget
If you ask anyone I know, they would tell you the only way that I spend money is by using one of my credit cards that are in my wallet. My reasoning for this is that they provide a convenient tracking service of all my expenditures so that I can budget my spending in a more efficient manner.
Now I do realize that by using credit cards there is some element of risk that I might get carried away and max them out, but I am able to exert self-control when I’m out shopping. Sure, the temptation is always there, but based on my income I cannot afford to make any expensive mistakes.
In order to keep my budgeting simple, I have opted into getting fixed interest credit cards so that I can figure out the interest that I’m paying a my purchases (should I not pay off the card) each month. Sure, I could get a lower floating-rate, but if interest rates rise, so will my expenses. I would rather play it safe then be risky and get into trouble.
