Teaching and Learning at the Same Time
This term in college has been a little bit different for me. Instead of just doing the coursework, I made a decision early on in the term to help my peers if the opportunity presented itself.
I thought that even though college was a place to learn, it could also be a place to share those skills that you’re good at with someone that needed some help. For me, I have been very good at essay writing all of my life and that has resulted in very high marks in classes that require a lot of writing.
The college has a writing center that helps students who are having difficulty with their essays where we proofread them and make suggestions on how the writing can be improved. I decided that I should volunteer there a couple times per week and help all those that have problems with writing.
Not only has been a great learning experience for me, but it is taught me that sharing one’s expertise is one of the greater things that you can do in life.
