Committed Teacher
As a first time piano teacher, I am very committed to ensure that all of my little students will learn and master piano. I did not know that teaching would have so many challenges and that I would be so frustrated with students who refused to practice. I mean, if they are not going to practice than they are wasting their parent’s money.
I decided that I was going to hold a competition. I was going to offer prizes to those students who handed in the most signed practice times over the course of a month. I figured it would give them more incentive to practice and I did notice a great increase in practice time.
The contest went really well and my students greatly improved. I was happy being a teacher at last. I knew this was what I wanted to do, since playing piano is the thing I love most in the world. This was not going to be like a job at all and that is the best kind of work you can have.
