Regional Magazines Offer Good Advertising Value

It amazes me that I read so many magazines.  I read business magazines, computer magazines and travel magazines.  I also advertise my business from time to time in magazines as well and get varying results.

You see, we have traditionally bought magazine advertising in larger publications that have a high readership.  Now, these are generalized magazines, not really targeted to a specific area.  In the case of a business that offers services to only a region of a country, in most cases advertising in a national magazine is of no value.

But, if a company that cater to a specific area does regional magazine advertising, all of a sudden, your advertising is working for you and your target market.  We have had most of our success in regional magazines as we are selling to those people that would be our customers - not someone across the country.

If you would like to see an example of a regional magazine, check out The RAAS.  They are a good example of a regional magazine (they cater to the Temecula and Murrieta regions in California), and cater to clients in those areas.  If you were to look at past issues, you will see that there are a lot of repeat advertisers - obviously they are making money from those ads. 

Be sure not to forget regional magazine advertising in your marketing strategy - the results will be worth it.
