Finding Who I Am

I will be finished college this spring and have accepted a teaching position in a small town, starting this coming fall. I am completely nervous to move away from home, but I am also excited to spread my wings and set some roots for myself. It will be a great growing experience, considering that I will know absolutely no one in the town when I move there.

My dad is going to travel there with me in a couple of weeks, so that we might look at houses for sale while we are there. It was suggested that I just rent a place until I decide if I like it there or not. But, I have made a decision that I am going to stick it out, and I can always sell a house if and when the time comes that I should move on.

It is going to be a great year for me. I am going to own my first home, meet new people and have my very first class full of little people that is all my own. I am ready for this new chapter in my life and I am ready to establish who I am as a person. It won’t be about me being my parent’s daughter any more. It is my chance to be myself and people will know me just for me.
