A Hypnotic Slumber
I have had a problem with insomnia for the past few months now and I was at my wit’s end. I did not want to start taking prescription drugs to help me sleep, as I am concerned with addiction and changes in personality. I was willing to try just about anything. That is when my dad told me about a self hypnosis procedure that helps many people fall asleep.
Basically, if you get yourself into a calm and relaxed state, you can tell your body parts, one at a time, starting with your feet, to go to sleep. I thought this could not hurt to try. So, I put on some relaxing music and lay down for a few minutes until I was relaxed. I then told my feet to go to sleep.
My feet and legs started to feel very heavy and I knew it was working. I was asleep within fifteen minutes that night, and have been every night since then. It has made me so curious, that I, in fact signed up to take a course to learn hypnosis. Who knows, maybe I can actually help other people someday as well.
