Empty Auction Site - What Gives?
I went to an online auction site and was informed that there was currently nothing for sale. My first thought was to be angry and my second was to pity them, for obviously they were doing something very wrong. How could an auction site have nothing for sale and still do well in the ratings?
I had found the site through a free search and was astounded that they came up close to the top of the search engine page. I was still confused as to how they could be ranked that high when they were, to me useless.
I decided to go and look in the archives and see if I could find out how they had climbed to the top. At this point I was beyond curious and thought that the person or people running the site must have amazing marketing skills.
I checked into the digital media and learned that they could care less whether anyone posted an auction or not. They were simply promoting the site and that, in the end, was making them more money than the actual auctions would.
