Measurable Corporate Performance

The key to a smooth running corporation is a metric with which to measure performance.  Sure, you could consider the financial statements to be one option, but what about something besides a macro level view of the system?

One method of measuring corporate performance is through corporate performance management software.  Not only does this give a system or framework for measuring the performance of the entire company, but it also provides the framework for measuring micro level performance such as the level of completion of internal projects.

This multi-level performance monitoring can allow managers at any level in the organization have the status of all of the projects that they are supervising at their fingertips.  This allows for a smoother, more efficient organization.

Getting the Help You Need

My brother has had a rough life.  Unfortunately for him, he always found himself in the wrong crowds and got into drugs and alcohol.  He has even had a few run ins with the police.  Now, these events have put a lot of strain on our family, but we all want one thing - for him to get better.

In fact, this week was a changing moment for him.  You see, one of his friends just got out of one of those rehabs, and he seems to be doing great.  In fact, his buddy is the one encouraging him to go and get the help he needs - and I think he might just do it.

What is really sad is that even though we know the help is there for us, most of us wouldn't take it.

Pleasant Surprise in the Paper

We have a subscription to the paper, but quite frankly, I am never really happy to see it.  Most of the news in the paper is boring and a waste of time to read.  Sure, I do find the business section interesting, but the other 90% of the paper is garbage in my opinion.

But, I have to say I had a pleasant surprise in the paper today.  You see, my wife's birthday is coming up and I need to buy her something, but I am a little bit cheap.  What I found in the paper was some Macys coupons that will save me some money when I go buy her present there.

Just make sure that you don't tell her....

Frustrated with Popups

I don't know what I did to my computer but it seems that all I get is a bunch of popups on my computer screen as soon as I open my web browser.  Maybe you have had the same experience too, but it is perhaps one of the most annoying things that can happen to a computer user because it never seems to stop.

Now, I tried to use anti-spyware software to get rid of any bugs my computer might have, but I have had little luck.  When I talked to my brother he told me to try to install a popup blocker - I just hope that works.

Protecting Your Online Identity From Theft

You have probably seen on the news the stories of identity theft that occurs online.  Quite often it can happen without your knowledge and can sometimes have significant financial impact to your life.

But there are better ways available now to ensure your anonymity while surfing.  For example, if you are at the public library and want to visit your MySpace account without risking someone finding out your login details.

A good suggestion for you to protect your private details would be to use a MySpace proxy site.  The way these types of sites work is that they connect to a remote computer to get the information to show you in your browser.  When you are done, there is no record of you visiting the sites you did, nor any record of your passwords.  Basically, proxy sites make your surfing experience safer.

If you are looking to try one out and see how they work, I would suggest going over to Google and doing a quick search for "myspace proxy" and you will find many sites that will work for you.
