Seems that my mailbox received its’ last piece of mail.  We have had a plastic mailbox on the side of our home for a number of years and it has worked great.  Thing is, we were not counting on the elements getting to it.

The other day, I went outside to check the mail and it was really, really cold out.  I opened the mailbox, and went to close it, and the mailbox fell off of the side of the house, hit the cement step, and the bottom broke out of it.  So, I guess it was time to go buy a new mail box.

I went to the hardware store to take a look at all the mailboxes they offered.  There were many different styles, and I picked out one (okay, the wife picked it out) and we put it on the house that same day.  I hope it lasts at least as long as the old one, but it doesn’t matter that much - it really wasn’t that expensive anyway.
