I decided this weekend that I have had enough with pay phones.  After the payphone ate over two dollars in quarters, and a few choice words, it was clear what I needed to do - get a cell phone.

Now, it has been a long time since I have looked at mobile phones, so I really didn’t know what to look for.  But what I did know is the things I wanted the phone to do: play MP3s, take pictures, and have the ability to have a Bluetooth headset.

I went to a local retailer to signup for mobile phone service and get a mobile phone.  It ended up that I picked a good day to go shopping - they had a special on where I could choose one of three free phones with a two year contract.  Two of the phones looked really cheap, and didn’t really catch my attention.

But the Nokia 6300 caught my eye and it was love at first sight.  It could do everything I was looking for and more - I could even listen to the radio should I tire of the MP3 player.  I had a good feeling about this phone - I know a few friends that had this phone and they all loved it.

So, I signed up and went home with my new gadget.  I am sure that I am going to waste the rest of the day playing with it, but I do have one thing to look forward to: no more payphones.
