Birthday Present Shopping
We were out yesterday shopping for a birthday present for my father. He is getting old (I hope he doesn’t read this), and it is his 55th birthday. We thought (my siblings and I) that we should get him something memorable and definitely special for his birthday. You see, he is at the point in his life if he wanted to buy something he could, so we needed to get him both something he would like and something he wouldn’t normally buy for himself.
With that in mind, the three of us got into my car and went downtown. Along the way we did a little bit of brainstorming to find out what we thought he would like. Sadly, for all the years he has been our father all we could come up with was books and watches. So, we decided to go look at watches at some of the jewelry stores downtown.
Now, I have some experience selling jewelry from a job I had a few years ago, so I knew what the good quality watch brands were. Such names as Omega, Tissot, Movado, and Panerai were some of the better watch brands I used to sell. So, we passed the cheap watches and looked at the more expensive ones. Some of them were exquisite and some (my opinion) were kind of ugly. Price wise they were as cheap as four hundred dollars and up with the sky being the limit.
We discussed what we could afford and ended up picking up an Omega watch for him for just under two thousand dollars. His party is later today… I hope he likes it!
