Accommodation Ideas for a Christmas Vacation

Last night, my wife and I sat down to plan our Christmas vacation.  We have been considering for months to go somewhere for Christmas - somewhere different than the usual parties we attend.  We were thinking somewhere out of the way and romantic - just the two of us without the kids.

We settled on going to Vermont - it would give us a change of scenery as well as let us go skiing.  Having decided where to go, we just needed to find a place to stay.

Our first thoughts, just like most people, was to call hotels.  We soon found that we were going to have some problems: most hotels were booked up for the Christmas season, and the prices were higher than off season rates.

Discouraged, we gave up for the night.

The next day brought us some good news.  I mentioned our problem to my buddy at work and he recommended to us a Vermont bed and breakfast that he had stayed at just a year earlier.  He had said it was very intimate, romantic and reasonably priced.

Rushing home, I made a quick call, and luckily for us I got a reservation.  I can’t wait till Twyla gets home and I can tell her the good news.  Now, if we can just find a babysitter for the kids….
